WOMENS EMPOWERMENT YOGA TEACHER TRAINING
22 days, (21 nights), 200 hour yoga teacher training programme.

Yoga Uganda is Yoga Alliance registered
This training is a holistic, integrated approach to vinyasa yoga
The training will be split into 3 modules. 30 hours of the training will be made up in pre and post training work. You will be supported through this. 105 hours will be in Jinja . These modules will teache students the fundamental philosophies and practices of yoga, empowerment and leadership, being of service to others and how to create and serve an outreach community.

Exploration of asana, optimal alignment, use of props, risks and benefits

Western Anatomy – functional anatomy as it relates to yoga practice

Hands on adjustments and verbal cues

Injury prevention and management

Yogic history, philosophy – The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali

Introduction to pranayama and meditation

Introduction to Sanskrit

Sadhana – developing a personal practice

Outreach - Tips on teaching outreach, ways to create connection

Seva - Being of service, we travel to a local village to offer ourselves
The final 65 hours will be in Ishasha Wilderness Park and prepare students to teach. We will also cover the fundamental philosophies and subtle energy practices of yoga.

A service (seva) project with wori (www.wori.org) a womens right initiative in Jinja.
Game drives in the Ishasha Sector of the Queen Elizabeth National Park and a night bush camping under the stars. many exceptional bird spotting and animal watching opportunities.
An opportunity to join the community practice in Jinja.
A percentage of your training fee contributes towards 4 Ugandan women to join the training.
