Traveling to East Africa - frequently asked questions
WHAT TRAVEL DOCUMENTS DO I NEED?
You will need a valid Passport, a yellow fever certificate and, depending on your country of origin, a visa to travel.

DO I NEED VACCINATIONS FOR EAST AFRICA?
You will need a yellow Fever vaccination. You will need proof of the vaccination to get your online approval and you will be required to show a copy when you enter the country. Tetanus, Hepatitus A and Typhoid are recommended. Do some research and see how you feel. It is your responsibility to be aware of any health and safety alerts for the regions you are traveling. Malaria is rare in Lamu, malarone is the recommended prophylactic.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?
Pack lightly. You will need less than you think. Most travel with one suitcase and a small, carry-on backpack that doubles as a pack for outings.
You will receive a complete packing list with further instructions after your acceptance into the program.
